How Can I Help Israel?

When we see painful images every night on the news, it is easy to become numb and to think that there is nothing that we can do to help. But the opposite is true – when our sisters and brothers in Israel are suffering, many experienced local organisations swing into action to help them, and they need urgent funds in order to deliver much-needed services. Here are a few examples:

Kids are sitting in their shelters day after day, and this was supposed to be their summer holiday. Many organisations have arranged for children from the worst-affected areas in the south of Israel to attend emergency summer camps in the north of the country, away from the stress and the trauma.
Stress and trauma affects everyone – Israeli doctors and psychologists open special clinics and helplines to advise those who are suffering from the effects of constant bombardment and paralyzing fear.

Men and woman who were called up to fight don’t know how long they will be camped out in temporary military bases, where the facilities are basic to say the least. Charities are delivering care packages make their service more comfortable – thick socks, mosquito repellent, deodorant, clean underwear…. It’s often the little things that make the most difference!
Emergency medical services have been on standby and are now working to supplement the overcrowded hospital emergency rooms. When they say ‘We’re running out of….” there are charities who spring into action to locate and bring them the supplies they need. Your donation can provide first aid to an injured soldier or civilian.

If you don’t know how to help then, we’re here to help you! If you indicate the category of support when you make your donation, we will give you recommendations for organisations in that category, and then allocate your donation according to your wishes.
